"The only thing more precious than time, is time spent with a child."
(Curt Hinson)
This quote has always been one close to my heart, as a mother and a teacher.
I truly believe that parents and guardians are the child's first teacher. Once the child is of school age, it is then that, the parents/guardians and teachers become partners in the continued spiritual, developmental and academic growth of the child. I believe that each child is "gifted" with certain abilites, which we have the responsibility to nurture . When a child is praised and encouaged, that child will thrive. Every child needs boundaries and discipline, but should also be encouraged to question and grow. Giving your child the freedom to explore, be challenged and make mistakes, can be difficult. However, this is necessary for continuous maturation into a self assured, confident, and happy young adult. Patience is of the utmost importance. I believe in allowing each child to bring to the educational experience their best ability, whatever that may be. There will be a range of capabilities, even with children in the same family. I look to explore and present each topic, or area of study, in as many different ways as possible to allow for individual differences. Children who discover success at an early age, also discover confidence in themselves. Most importantly, I wish for every child to know the unconditional love of God, and to feel His presence throughout their lifetime on their journey to complete the mission He has planned for each one of them.
